With the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone across the globe is in the process of figuring out how to adapt in order to curb the spread of this virus. As we re-open our doors to welcome our families, we need for you to understand that we will do our best to prevent the spread of the corona virus. We have put into action a COVID-19 plan that will change as often as needed to stay in regulation with the city, state and the center for disease control (CDC). Please bare with us as we embark on this new way of life together.
To ensure that our kids and staff are safe and healthy, here are our daily best practices to minimize the spread of the virus in our facility:
COVID-19 Screening tool:
We have a daily visual practice and questionnaire that we use daily with every child. Upon arrival, we check the temperature of each child before the parent leaves. Temperatures must be under 100.4 to enter the facility. We check for symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, sore throat etc.
A visual inspection is done by the greeting staff member to check for things such as flushed cheeks, fatigue, cough etc. Before the parent exits the grounds of our facility, we also ask if they have been in contact with someone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 recently or within the past 14 days. This screening is done thoroughly and in less than 5 mins to lessen the traffic in and around our facility. If the screening tool has been passed, then the child is then allowed into the facility for the day. The child will immediately wash their hands and be placed with their teacher.
If the screening is not passed, the child is not allowed, and we will then instruct the parent to contact their doctor immediately to be seen for COVID-19 testing or screened for other illnesses.
Facility cleaning process:
Our facility is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized throughout the day and every evening. We have sanitizing products and wash stations available for use in all areas, including an outside handwashing station. All toys and surfaces are sanitized and cleaned daily. Staff and children over the age of 2 are required to wear mask while in the facility except during designated lunch times.
On-Site Medical Professional:
To help facilitate our new reopening process and daily best practice, we have brought on a medical professional to join our staff. We would like to welcome Ms. Vanessa Addai R.N. She is a board certified Registered Nurse for over 15 years currently working at Saint Christophers Hospital for Children as well as a Nursing Teacher for Prism and Holy Family.
Ms. Addai will be available on site to do a overall wellness check for both staff and children, and will be available to consult with us for any questions that may arise. Ms. Addai is also a certified CPR trainer.
For a full overview of our COVID-19 screening policy, please feel free to contact us directly by email or phone at 215-450-0707.
